About Mosaika Impact

We are not a typical tech company. We are educators, development professionals and technologists.

Mosaika Impact works at the intersection of artificial intelligence, capacity building and social impact - making AI practical and genuinely useful for leaders driving progress in education, health, livelihoods, and community development across India.

Our philosophy

Like a mosaic, the pieces only matter when they come together.

Having worked in education and development for over 30 years, our founder, Mamta Saikia, has experienced the real challenges on the ground — the understaffed NGO scrambling to meet deadlines, the field worker whose mission-critical work takes a back seat as paperwork piles up, and the school principal pulled in a hundred directions

With AI emerging as a powerful force, Mamta spent time in AI coaching, to understand the technology, its potential and relevance from grounds up. That hands-on learning shaped a core conviction. AI training only works when people learn by doing for their use-cases which leads to internalisation. When they walk out of any such trainings, they should be able to work at a higher level from the very next day with confidence to explore. Without practice and hands on training, most learning stays in the training rooms and people go back to working the way they always did.

It is our belief that AI is an excellent tool & support that can help people and organisations do their jobs with much less pain. But human judgement, human relationships, trust, and accountability remain central. In both the spaces where we work, education and development sector, it is people who ultimately create value.

Our goal is that AI makes a significant addition to the quality of life of all stakeholders and does not take anything away from them. We encourage sensible use of AI, given the environmental footprint it carries.

Why we exist

A moment in a Delhi conference hall crystallised everything.

Last year, at a large NGO-CSR conference, Mamta saw a senior social worker in tears during a break. She had travelled from South India hoping to present her small NGO's case to CSR heads - but the conference was ending and she hadn't managed to collect a single business card.

Her organisation had spent money it could barely afford to send her, and she had nothing to show for it. The vast majority of India's small NGOs run on passion alone - stretched thin, unable to afford the training or tools that could change their situation. Mosaika Impact exists to close this gap.

Over 30 years in education and development, founder Mamta Saikia witnessed mission-driven teams stretched thin by administration, fundraising, and reporting.

After leaving Bharti Airtel Foundation, Mamta has been interacting with NGOs in various capacities, and her work in Education with teachers and children continues. Her interactions and working along with NGOs of various sizes crystallized the purpose of Mosaika for her.

The vast majority of India’s 5.5 lakh registered NGOs (DARPAN) are small to medium organizations run by passionate people who are drowning in administrative work, stretched thin across roles, and unable to afford the kind of training or tools that could change their situation. If there is any sector that needs AI’s support the most, it is the development sector. India’s development and education sectors need this shift. Small NGOs lack access to AI tools and training.

The same is true in education. Every teacher has 30 different contexts in her classroom and limited toolkits to work with. Her time is pulled in a hundred directions, and it is almost always the teaching that suffers. AI has a huge role to play in freeing up teachers’ time so they can actually be teachers. While there are a lot of organizations who are focusing on the classroom use of AI, and training of teachers on AI tools, one segment that is yet to require similar focus is the School Principals & Head Teachers. They need to be equipped not just to use AI tools, but a training centered around their ability to evaluate AI tools and platforms, navigate privacy and data policies, govern AI use, and transition their organisations toward meaningful adoption, so that impact focus is deepened through AI-led transformation, undertaken thoughtfully.

Mamta’s own journey of AI training shaped her core belief: AI adoption succeeds when people train on their own work and apply it immediately.

Mosaika and its partners exist to close this gap. We bring AI to the people who need it most and can multiply their impact exponentially.

Mission & Strategic Imperative

People working to change the world must use AI to drive their mission.

Mosaika Impact is an AI-for-impact company founded on a core conviction: people working to change the world deserve access to powerful AI tools. We are not a tech company. We are educators, development professionals, and technologists who understand both AI's promise and the ground realities of the social sector. Our aim is to make AI practical and genuinely useful for leaders and organisations driving progress in education, health, livelihoods, and community development across India.

Our Objectives

  1. 1.Train to equip social sector leaders and professionals to apply AI effectively in their work.
  2. 2.Enable education and development sector organisations to integrate AI meaningfully into their work and impact initiatives.
  3. 3.Help institutions develop responsible AI policies and governance frameworks.
  4. 4.Build a collaborative network of mission-driven organisations to share knowledge, strengthen capacity, and scale collective impact of AI.

It is our belief that AI is an excellent tool and support that can help people and organizations do their work more impactfully and efficiently. Human at the helm, human judgment and accountability are critical at every juncture. It is the human relationships, promises, trust and accountability that are finally valuable in the spaces where we work - be it education space or the development sector at large.

So, our endeavor remains that the use of AI should just make a significant addition to quality of life of all the stakeholders and not take anything away from them. And we encourage sensible use of AI, given the environment footprint it entails.

AI where AI is needed, not AI for AI’s sake

Like a mosaic, we bring together diverse expertise and communities. When the pieces connect, they create something far larger than any single part.
